Informal Lounge ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at informallounge.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it.
When you log in, we receive from Discord: your Discord user ID, username, display name, email address, and avatar. This is the only login method available.
Information you choose to add to your profile: a custom username, display name, title, bio, social media handles (e.g. Twitch, YouTube, Twitter), custom links, content category tags, theme preferences, and optionally a custom profile picture you upload (stored in Azure Blob Storage).
If you submit a membership application, we collect: your content type, how you found us, any social handles you provide, and an optional message. This data is retained for admin review and record-keeping.
We record which events you sign up for, are invited to, or are on the standby list for. This is linked to your account.
We store server-side refresh tokens to keep you logged in. These expire automatically and are periodically cleaned up.
We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising.
We use Discord OAuth for login. Discord's Privacy Policy governs data Discord itself holds.
We use these APIs server-side to display live status and videos on the site. No personal account data is transmitted to Twitch or YouTube on your behalf.
If you subscribe to our public calendar feed, your chosen calendar provider (e.g. Google, Apple, Microsoft) will periodically fetch that feed directly from our server to keep your calendar in sync. The feed only contains publicly visible event details (title, description, and time) — no account or attendee information.
Some pages embed video players directly from YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok. These embeds are only loaded after you give your explicit consent via the cookie banner. Once loaded, each service may set its own cookies and collect data according to its own privacy policy:

We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account exists. Application data is retained indefinitely for administrative records. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 7).
We use an HTTP-only cookie to maintain your login session. This is strictly necessary for the site to function when you are logged in.
We store your cookie consent choice in your browser's local storage under the key cookie-consent. The value is either "accepted" or "declined". This lets us remember your preference across page visits without setting an additional cookie. You can change this preference at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.
If you accept cookies, embedded YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok players will be loaded and those services may set their own cookies in your browser. We have no control over those cookies. If you decline, no embeds are loaded and no third-party cookies are set. See Section 4 for links to each service's privacy policy.
